National shipping, transport and marine insurance team is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Shipping & Trade practice. The role covers contentious and non‑contentious shipping, marine insurance and admiralty work, with matters across Australian courts and international arbitration.

Work will include marine insurance (cargo, hull, liability and recreational craft), regulatory and commercial advisory for ship operators and owners, admiralty matters (arrests, liens, judicial sales) and insurer/claimant representation in recovery and coverage disputes. The team operates nationally; candidates based in Melbourne or Perth are preferred but flexible locations across Australia will be considered.

Minimum 3 years post‑admission experience in shipping, transport or maritime law
Experience in marine insurance matters (coverage, defence and recoveries) preferred
Proven litigation and/or international arbitration experience
Strong commercial legal drafting, attention to detail and ability to supervise junior lawyers
Client management and business development capability
