Join an established Public Law & Human Rights team in Southampton handling Court of Protection, community care and related public law matters. The role involves managing your own caseload and supporting on complex, high-impact matters involving vulnerable clients.

You will deliver client-focused advice on mental capacity and health & welfare issues, draft applications and statements, and advise on care needs, funding disputes and discharge/transition planning. The team values collaborative, compassionate practice and offers development opportunities within a supportive environment.

Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)
Experience in public law, Court of Protection or community care matters (desirable)
Practical knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
Experience acting for privately funded clients
Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills; empathetic client handling
Proactive, collaborative approach to work
