Join an established Public Law & Human Rights team in Southampton handling Court of Protection, community care and related public law matters. The role involves managing your own caseload and supporting on complex, high-impact matters involving vulnerable clients.

You will deliver client-focused advice on mental capacity and health & welfare issues, draft applications and statements, and advise on care needs, funding disputes and discharge/transition planning. The team values collaborative, compassionate practice and offers development opportunities within a supportive environment.

  • Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Experience in public law, Court of Protection or community care matters (desirable)
  • Practical knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Experience acting for privately funded clients
  • Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills; empathetic client handling
  • Proactive, collaborative approach to work
