High-calibre England & Wales qualified associate (4–6 PQE) sought for a growing energy team in London with a primary focus on upstream oil & gas transactional work. The role offers significant responsibility, clear progression prospects and regular client exposure on cross-border mandates.

The team advises a broad international client base across upstream matters including country entry, equity investments and alternative financing structures. You will support and work closely with senior colleagues on complex transactions and take ownership of discrete workstreams.

Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, managing parts of deals with increasing autonomy, liaising with clients and contributing to business development and client relationship activities.

  • Qualified in England & Wales with 4–6 years post-qualification experience
  • Proven transactional experience in upstream oil & gas (private practice or in-house)
  • Technical drafting and negotiation skills across core upstream agreements
  • Ability to manage discrete workstreams, work closely with senior lawyers and engage with clients
