Firm overview

This international law firm has a strong presence in the Netherlands and serves listed and large unlisted companies, financial institutions, governmental bodies, and social organizations. The Amsterdam office is an integral part of a broad global network and is known for its no-nonsense culture and innovative approach to legal practice.

Role

We are seeking a starting candidate civil-law notary (kandidaat-notaris) to join our Corporate notarial practice group in Amsterdam. You will work directly on high-profile and often cross-border matters, advising clients from both civil-law and company-law perspectives. Your responsibilities will include supporting transactions such as mergers, demergers, restructurings, acquisitions, joint ventures, management buyouts/buyins, IPOs, and ongoing corporate governance advice to listed and large private companies.

As part of this role, you will be involved from day one, collaborating closely with a dedicated team and under the guidance of an experienced partner.

Your development

You will have the opportunity to grow professionally through our internal training program, Basecamp, which focuses on both substantive legal skills and personal development. You will also pursue the Royal Notarial Professional Qualification (Koninklijke Notariële Beroepsopleiding) while rotating across different practice groups in your first three years, allowing you to explore various areas of notarial law and discover where your strengths lie.

Culture and application

We foster an open and inclusive culture that encourages ambitious talent. We believe in the power of diverse teams to achieve success. If you are enthusiastic and driven, we invite you to apply by submitting your CV, motivation letter, academic transcripts (master's, bachelor's, and high school), and any internship evaluations.

Selection process

The selection process is designed to move quickly—you will receive feedback within two weeks of applying. It consists of an initial CV screening, an assessment, an HR interview, and two partner interviews (four partners total). We use scenario-based interviewing to ensure a fair and unbiased assessment of all candidates. Please note that unsolicited acquisition in response to this vacancy will not be appreciated.
