Join a national law firm’s conflicts and risk team as a Conflicts Staff Attorney. This role supports conflicts screening and new-business intake workstreams and is open to candidates based within reasonable commuting distance of the New York or Washington, D.C. offices; a flexible remote arrangement is available.

The position is responsible for performing and analysing conflicts database searches, assisting intake attorneys to resolve potential conflicts, drafting conflict waivers under applicable ethics rules, and participating in training and risk-management projects. You will also run special searches (e.g., prior relations, potential mergers) and support department process-improvement initiatives.

The team values collaboration, responsiveness, and attention to detail; the role offers exposure to firm-wide intake practices and opportunities to help shape best practices for conflict screening and new-matter intake.

  • JD required and active bar admission in the U.S.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting conflicts analysis in a large law firm or comparable legal environment preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conflicts-of-interest rules under the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and client-service orientation
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Intapp Open or similar conflicts/intake systems preferred
