About the Opportunity

Join a leading electricity organisation in a role that will strengthen your legal career. This is a 3-month, full-time hybrid position based in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support across a broad range of commercial, corporate and contractual matters within an in-house or private practice environment.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including procurement, supply, services, technology, operations and project-related contracts.
  • Deliver practical and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders on day-to-day and strategic matters.
  • Support corporate governance, risk management, compliance and regulatory obligations applicable to large organisations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal, commercial and operational risks while enabling business objectives and project outcomes.
  • Prepare clear and concise legal advice, reports, contract documentation and decision-making materials.

About You

  • Experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with a minimum of 3 years' PQE, ideally with a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering closely with executives, project teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with business and operational considerations.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality legal support in a fast-paced in-house environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a wide variety of legal, contractual and regulatory matters as business needs evolve.
  • Experience within the energy, infrastructure, utilities or resources sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
