We are seeking an experienced corporate commercial lawyer to join our flexible legal resourcing platform on a three-month, full-time hybrid engagement based in Brisbane. This role supports a leading energy organisation, where you will provide practical legal advice across a range of operational and strategic matters.

Working alongside senior lawyers and business stakeholders, you will handle commercial agreements, contract negotiations, and land-related arrangements, with a focus on renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and project-related contracts.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial matters, balancing risk with commercial objectives.
  • Support land agreements, including leases, licences, easements, and access arrangements.
  • Advise on property law principles and land access considerations relevant to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analyse regulatory developments to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams and business stakeholders throughout project development and delivery.
  • Prepare legal advice, agreements, correspondence, and governance documentation.

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced corporate commercial lawyer with at least three years of post-qualification experience gained in private practice or in-house within a large organisation. You bring strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, and you thrive in a flexible, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' PQE in corporate commercial law.
  • Current Australian practising certificate.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects (highly regarded).
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior lawyers and business teams.
  • Minimum 3 years' PQE as a corporate commercial lawyer.
  • Current Australian practising certificate.
  • Right to live and work in Australia.
  • Experience in a private practice or in-house legal team within a large organisation.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract review skills.
  • Experience with land agreements (leases, licences, easements) and property law principles.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy or infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
  • Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
