Apply in confidence →Join a large Manchester litigation team as a Costs Draftsperson / Costs Lawyer / Solicitor working on a broad caseload including paying- and receiving-party costs and budgeting. The role covers costs arising mainly from personal injury defence work, with additional instructions from commercial, property, marine, aviation and professional indemnity matters.
Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and negotiating fast‑track to multi‑track costs, preparing own-party and third-party budgets, pursuing costs recoveries and bill drafting. There is scope to work across different lines of work or to focus on particular areas according to experience and team needs.

- Minimum c.2 years' experience in a costs environment (suitable for Costs Draftspersons, Costs Lawyers or Solicitors).
- Proven experience running costs matters for the paying party and preparing costs budgets.
- Advocacy experience and bill‑drafting skills desirable but not essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and time‑management skills; ability to work to tight deadlines and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and a flexible, client‑focused approach.
