Join a national law firm’s litigation costs team as a Costs Lawyer / Draftsman. The role involves preparing bills of costs for detailed and provisional assessment, managing costs litigation through the court process and providing technical support to fee-earning teams. Occasional court advocacy may be required, subject to agreement with the costs lead.

This is a client-facing role that requires taking instructions, advising clients on costs matters and contributing to training of more junior colleagues. Minimum 2 years' experience in costs drafting or working in a costs team (in-house or external supplier)
Basic knowledge of civil litigation procedures and costs processes
Proven IT literacy, including time-recording systems
Strong communication skills and professional telephone manner; ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible approach to changing priorities
Desirable: ACL qualification or ILEX Part 1 (or similar); experience across legal departments
