The role involves regulatory counseling and privacy program work for clients across the health sector, including life sciences companies, providers, payors, labs and research institutions.
Typical matters include HIPAA and state health-privacy compliance, vendor and data‑use agreements, AI-related data use and governance, privacy risk assessments, and cross‑border data flow issues. The role includes direct client interaction, managing discrete workstreams, and preparing client-ready deliverables.
- 3–5 years’ experience in privacy, technology regulatory counseling, or related roles (law firm, government, or in‑house)
- Experience supporting privacy compliance in health and life sciences; familiarity with HIPAA, Part 2, GINA and state health/privacy laws preferred
- Strong research, drafting and oral communication skills; ability to deliver client‑ready work in a fast‑paced environment
- Membership in or eligibility for the D.C. Bar
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across teams; submission should include at least one substantive privacy/technology writing sample
