A lawyer-level role in a global firm's risk and compliance team, supporting the firm-wide Data Privacy Team from the Belfast office. The role sits on a small, collaborative team and involves providing practical, business-focused privacy and information‑security advice across a range of internal stakeholders.

Day-to-day work includes supporting the global privacy programme, incident response and individual rights requests, conducting privacy impact assessments, advising on data transfers and localisation, and contributing to AI governance and privacy‑by‑design projects. The role also involves creating policies, training and communications to embed compliant data-handling practices across the organisation.

  • Qualified lawyer, 1–4 years PQE.
  • Strong academic background (e.g. 2:1 degree or equivalent) and demonstrable experience advising on data privacy and data‑handling issues.
  • Comfort with technology and the ability to explain technical processes in business-friendly terms; good IT skills (MS Office; familiarity with eDiscovery or specialist tools advantageous).
  • Experience working with a range of business stakeholders, strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Desirable: data privacy qualification (e.g. CIPP/E or CIPM), experience in an international corporate or professional‑services environment or within a risk function, and exposure to incident response/AI governance.
