Apply in confidence →National law firm seeks an experienced Education Senior Counsel to advise educational institutions and education-service providers across the United States. The role is open at multiple offices and can be based in a virtual office; candidates may apply to the office corresponding to their bar licensure or commit to obtaining admission promptly.
The successful candidate will provide regulatory and operational counseling with a focus on K-12 matters, represent clients in state and federal complaint processes, and deliver guidance on licensure, accreditation, and state-specific operational compliance. This is a senior, non-partnership position with hybrid/remote flexibility.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience advising private, religious, and public educational institutions and education service providers, especially K-12
- Familiarity with education-related statutes and regulations (e.g., FERPA, Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, VAWA, EPA, ADA, Section 504, IDEA, ADEA) and with defending/responding to state and federal complaints
- Experience advising on state-specific licensing, accreditation, and operational compliance for schools
- Excellent judgment, strong written and oral communication, and ability to manage multiple matters under pressure
- Active bar admission in the state of the chosen office or commitment to obtain admission promptly
