Apply in confidence →Growing Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation team seeks an associate to support a broad benefits and executive compensation practice in the Washington, D.C. office. The group handles equity plans and agreements, executive retention arrangements, retirement and welfare plans, and employee benefit and compensation issues arising in transactions.
Day-to-day work includes research and drafting, preparing plan documents and opinions, supporting transactional work (including M&A-related benefits and comp issues), and advising on compliance matters. The role offers collaborative team work, exposure to complex matters, and opportunities for professional development.
Position is hybrid with regular in-office presence and some remote flexibility. Candidates must be admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and able to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Approximately 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience; experience at a large AmLaw firm preferred.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in employee benefits, executive compensation, equity-based compensation, and benefits issues in transactions.
- Excellent legal research, drafting and writing skills, strong attention to detail, and good business judgment.
- Ability to work collaboratively on teams and to manage work independently under deadlines.
