3-month, full-time (hybrid) legal consultant role based in Melbourne with a large financial‑services client. The role sits in employment / industrial relations and focuses on payroll remediation and compliance work across a new payroll platform.

You will work with internal IR teams and business stakeholders to review and draft business requirements, identify gaps in the current system build, and support end-to-end remediation to ensure compliance with employment and industrial relations obligations.

This is a hands-on position requiring clear communication of complex technical and legal issues to stakeholders at all levels and experience handling complex employment matters in large organisations.

  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification employment / IR experience
  • Demonstrable payroll remediation or wage & hour compliance experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial relations law and interpreting Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience drafting business requirements and supporting payroll platform implementation or remediation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to simplify complex information
  • Current practising certificate and legal right to work in Australia
