12‑month fixed‑term opportunity for an experienced in‑house lawyer to join a global Engagement Terms team based in Belfast. The role sits at the centre of the firm's risk and compliance function and focuses on negotiating, interpreting and operationalising client engagement terms across the business.

Day‑to‑day work includes review and negotiation of complex contractual provisions (with an emphasis on data privacy, information security and AI‑related clauses), maintaining and analysing contractual records, repapering templates to reflect regulatory and market developments, and acting as an escalation point on high‑risk terms. The role involves close collaboration with privacy, IT, information security and business teams and support of change and migration projects.

Substantial experience advising on and negotiating complex client engagement agreements, ideally with exposure to data privacy, information security and AI‑related contractual provisions.
Experience in a risk, regulatory or law‑firm operational setting preferred; strong commercial and compliance awareness.
Track record of systemising processes, using technology and data to drive continuous improvement and reporting.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior internal clients and manage competing priorities.
Strong IT literacy and the ability to translate technical issues into business‑focused legal advice.
