International Arbitration Intern

Join the London-based International Arbitration practice of a leading global law firm for a six-month fixed-term internship starting in March 2027. You will support both the London team and colleagues worldwide on a broad range of investment treaty and commercial arbitration matters.

This is an exciting time to join as the practice is growing. You will work within a wider disputes team known for its commitment to professional development and diversity initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Research on investment arbitration, international commercial arbitration, public international law and related areas, and drafting internal and client memoranda.
• Assist with preparation and filing of pleadings and submissions.
• Prepare for and attend hearings.
• Review and analyse documentary evidence, including preparing factual chronologies.
• Support document disclosure processes.
• Participate in client meetings and calls.
• Monitor developments in target jurisdictions to anticipate potential BIT claims.
• Draft articles for the practice's blog on recent arbitration developments.
• Involvement in marketing and know-how projects.

About you:

• Graduate or post-graduate qualification(s) in international arbitration law and practice.
• Experience working on international arbitrations within a law firm is ideal, particularly involving legal research and drafting submissions.
• Participation in arbitration moot competitions (e.g. Willem C Vis Moot, FDI Moot) or internships in arbitration is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness, motivation, and ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse and use large volumes of case information creatively.
• Fluency in English with strong legal drafting skills; additional languages are helpful.

• Fluency in English with a proven record of sophisticated legal drafting; additional languages an advantage.
