Apply in confidence →Seeking a mid-level associate to join a national international trade practice with openings in New York City or Washington, D.C. The role focuses on customs and import law matters across investigations, compliance, and enforcement.
You will manage day-to-day aspects of matters, take responsibility for substantive client work, and supervise junior team members. The team regularly handles audits, penalty proceedings, disclosures, and trade litigation and advises on valuation, classification, origin, and forced-labor risk issues.
- 2–4 years of substantive experience in customs and import law
- Experience with forced labor issues, audits, investigations, penalty proceedings, disclosures, valuation, classification, and origin matters
- Proven experience managing matters day-to-day and supervising junior associates
- U.S. Court of International Trade experience preferred
- Member of the relevant state bar for the office applied to, or eligible for admission by waiver
- Strong academic record with highly developed writing and analytical skills
