IP Associate — Intellectual Property, New Jersey

A New Jersey-based associate role in a national/international law firm's IP practice, focused on patent prosecution, portfolio management and client counseling. The team works across industries and supports both local and cross‑border patent matters.

The position involves drafting and prosecuting chemical- and mechanical-related patent applications, assisting with strategic portfolio development, and preparing opinions and counseling for clients. Collaboration with colleagues across offices and direct client contact are expected.

• 2–5 years post-qualification experience focused on patent prosecution
• Registered to practice before the USPTO and in good standing (or able to gain admission) with the New Jersey bar
• Experience drafting and prosecuting chemical- and/or mechanical-related patent applications; managing global patent portfolios and preparing FTO opinions preferred
• Degree or advanced degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or equivalent technical experience; strong writing and analytical skills
