Insurance Defense Attorney, Insurance — New Jersey

Growing global insurance practice seeks a mid-level insurance defense litigator to join its New Jersey office. The role offers hands-on courtroom and case-management experience within a diversified insurance litigation team.

You will handle all stages of litigation, including developing strategy, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and participating in mediations and trials. The team provides formal mentoring, business development training and opportunities for internal secondments.

Competitive compensation is offered; the hiring range disclosed by the employer is $130,000 to $160,000, dependent on experience and other job-related factors.

• 3-6 years insurance defense litigation experience (mid-level associate).
• Substantive experience with premises liability, motor-vehicle negligence (including UM/UIM), negligent security, professional liability and wrongful-death matters.
• Proven litigation skills: drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, taking/defending depositions, arguing motions, and trial/mediation experience.
• Admitted and in good standing in New York; additional state admissions (including New Jersey) are a plus.
• Strong research, writing and communication skills and familiarity with rules and procedures of the New Jersey courts.
