IP Patent Prosecution Associate — Biological Sciences

Seeking an associate to join a busy patent prosecution team handling biotechnology and life‑sciences portfolios. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications and providing strategic portfolio counseling for clients ranging from startups to global biopharma companies.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include patent drafting and prosecution, freedom‑to‑operate, validity and patentability analyses, IP due diligence support, and collaboration with litigators and licensing teams. This position is on-site (not remote/hybrid).

• Ph.D. in biological sciences, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, immunology, or closely related field; exceptionally qualified M.S. candidates with substantial industry research experience may be considered.
• Active registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.
• Admission to the relevant state bar and in good standing.
• Minimum ~1 year of patent prosecution experience in biotechnology preferred (law firm or in‑house).
• Strong technical background in areas such as gene editing, cell & gene therapy, antibodies/peptides, or molecular diagnostics, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑oriented, detail focused, and client service driven.
