Apply in confidence →We are seeking a Technology Specialist to join a national IP practice focused on technology and semiconductor matters. The role supports attorneys on patent prosecution, litigation support, opinions and IP transactional work across a range of technical matters.
This position is open across multiple U.S. offices (including Boston, Denver, New York, Palo Alto and Washington, D.C.). Typical responsibilities include working with inventors, preparing patent applications and office-action responses, conducting patent and literature searches, drafting instructions to foreign counsel, and assisting with patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses.
The role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with lawyers and technical teams on complex matters.
- Technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, materials science, physics, or a related discipline (degree required).
- Experience or coursework relevant to patent prosecution and patent litigation support in technology/semiconductor fields.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills; experience conducting patent and scientific literature searches.
- Law degree (J.D.) or equivalent where applicable; willingness to provide law school, undergraduate and graduate transcripts as requested.
