Apply in confidence →We are seeking a Knowledge Management Attorney to support our Real Estate practice group. In this staff role, you will own and lead the curation of knowledge assets, develop and implement knowledge management strategies, and create and maintain model documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidance. You will serve as the embedded KM expert and liaison, champion technology adoption, support lateral onboarding and succession planning, and collaborate with practice leadership on KM and AI initiatives. Responsibilities include developing training materials, facilitating live demonstrations and pilot programs, evaluating program effectiveness, and maintaining strict confidentiality. This is a hybrid role.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and lead the curation of knowledge artifacts in the firm’s KM database and other knowledge libraries for assigned practice groups.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and assess KM strategies and systems tailored to practice group needs.
- Create, organize, and maintain model documents, forms, precedents, drafting guidance, and practice area resources.
- Capture and relay user feedback to drive continuous improvement of KM tools and processes, including the DMS and intranet.
- Serve as a source of legal, market, and practical expertise by tracking trends and developments in legal technology.
- Identify content gaps and curate attorney contributions; vet and execute KM innovation projects.
- Partner with KM leadership to implement new technologies; champion adoption and organizational change.
- Support lateral onboarding and knowledge succession planning, including documenting processes and negotiation strategies.
- Develop training materials and facilitate demonstrations, pilot programs, and success-story sharing.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements; maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
Required qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of law firm experience in relevant practice groups or KM/innovation within professional services.
- Deep expertise in the workflows, priorities, and day-to-day needs of attorneys practicing in real estate, construction, multifamily housing, and public finance.
- Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, legal research, and practice support, including KM tools and technologies such as databases, intranets, portals, search engines, and document management systems (e.g., iManage).
- Proven experience with legal technology, project management, and business planning.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and knowledge management platforms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; strong organizational and project management skills.
