Labor & Employment Counsel — Houston

Experienced employment-law attorney sought for a senior counsel role in a busy Houston office of a national labor & employment practice. The position involves managing litigation and counseling matters for sophisticated local and national employers, with frequent client contact and interaction with government agencies and opposing counsel.

Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research, drafting memoranda, motions and pleadings, participating in court conferences, handling discovery and investigations, preparing position statements and dispositive motions, and providing practical counseling on a range of employment-law issues.

The team is collaborative and development-focused, with regular firm-wide meetings, formal training, and opportunities for writing, publishing and speaking within the employment-law community.

• Juris Doctor and active or eligible admission to the Texas bar
• Demonstrated experience in labor & employment litigation and counseling (investigations, discovery, dispositive motions)
• Strong legal research, analytical and writing skills
• Comfortable managing client relationships and interacting with government agencies and opposing counsel
• Ability to work collaboratively on a team and participate in business development and professional development activities
