Labor & Employment Counsel — Los Angeles, CA

Seeking a Counsel-level labor & employment attorney to join a busy Los Angeles office of a national law firm. The role focuses on defense-side employment litigation and counseling across state and federal matters, with responsibility for managing cases from intake through resolution.

The team handles individual and representative wage-and-hour matters, discrimination and harassment claims, PAGA and class-action exposure, and provides employment counseling on federal and California law. The position offers substantial courtroom and deposition experience and requires independent case management and strong writing and research skills.

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active admission to the California bar
• Approximately 9–12 years of relevant labor & employment experience (defense-side preferred)
• Experience defending single-plaintiff employment litigation and representative/wage-and-hour matters, including PAGA and class actions
• Proven ability to manage matters from start to finish independently; strong research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience drafting/responding to pleadings and discovery, briefing dispositive and discovery motions, and taking/defending depositions
• Employment counseling experience on federal and California employment laws
• Smaller portable book would be ideal but is not required; employer does not sponsor immigration for this role
