Top-tier US law firm is seeking a driven associate to join a transactional-focused Labor & Employment group that sits at the intersection of employment law and corporate deal work. The role emphasizes transactional and advisory work — employment diligence, executive mobility, restrictive covenants, and post-closing workforce integration — rather than traditional employment litigation.

The position involves close collaboration with corporate deal teams, private equity sponsors, and senior client leadership on high-stakes matters where personnel issues affect enterprise value and transaction outcomes. This is a visible role with opportunities to develop a blended practice of deal-side employment counseling, executive agreements, and crisis-sensitive advisory work.

The position is open to candidates in multiple U.S. offices (examples of possible bases include Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Chicago, or Dallas).

  • 3–6 years post-qualification experience in labor & employment, with a transactional focus
  • Experience supporting employment-related diligence in M&A or private equity transactions
  • Strong drafting and negotiation experience with executive employment agreements, separation arrangements, and restrictive covenant provisions
  • Ability to provide strategic, high‑stakes advice to deal teams and senior client leadership; excellent judgment and responsiveness
