Top-tier global firm is seeking an associate to join its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group in Chicago. The team handles executive compensation, equity plans and agreements, retirement and welfare plans, and benefits and compensation aspects of transactions, with regular private equity deal work.

The role offers a collaborative, supportive environment with opportunities to work on transactional matters, draft memoranda and agreements, conduct legal research, participate in client calls, and support mergers and acquisitions and retention- and equity-related arrangements.

This position is hybrid with a regular in-office presence and some remote flexibility, and includes firm-wide professional development and pro bono opportunities.

  • JD from an accredited law school and admission to the Illinois bar
  • Approximately 3 years of corporate experience with relevant employee benefits/executive compensation exposure
  • Practical experience with equity‑based compensation, executive retention packages, and benefits issues in M&A (private equity experience a plus)
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and transactional support skills; excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, work collaboratively, and engage with clients and deal teams
