Seeking a Lateral Partner to join a large national law firm’s Los Angeles employment and labor team, focusing on employee benefits work with an emphasis on ESOPs. The role will lead client matters, provide technical counseling on benefit plan design and compliance, and handle complex transactional and advisory matters across benefit types.

The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative, cross-office benefits group, partnering with transactional, tax and ERISA practitioners. This position offers leadership responsibility within the office and opportunities to develop and expand a benefits/ESOP practice in the region.

Portable client relationships are welcome; the firm is looking for a partner who can contribute immediate client work while also building long-term business with firm support.

  • Partner-level experience in employee benefits/ERISA, with demonstrable ESOP experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling complex benefits counseling and transactional matters.
  • Established client relationships or a portable practice in benefits/ESOP work.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior lawyers and to collaborate across practice groups.
  • Active bar admission and eligibility to practice in California.
