Legal Advisor — Privacy & Data Protection, Brussels

We are recruiting a mid‑level legal advisor to join a Legal & Compliance team as the designated Data Protection Officer/Privacy Officer. You will own the firm’s privacy and parts of information security programme: policy development, monitoring, DPIAs and AI assessments, incident response and maintaining processing and breach registers.

The role is advisory and hands‑on: drafting and reviewing (processor) agreements, advising on procurement and projects, running trainings to raise awareness, and recommending process improvements to reduce risk and strengthen controls.

• HBO/BA level education, preferably in law or a closely related field
• 3–4 years' experience in privacy, data protection or information security (privacy officer, in‑house or firm counsel)
• IAPP certification (CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT) or willingness to obtain one
• Strong analytical skills, pragmatic problem‑solving and clear advisory abilities
