Seeking experienced commercial technology lawyers for interim contract assignments in the UAE. Roles are typically six-month, full-time placements based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with some flexibility depending on the assignment.

Candidates will advise on a broad range of technology matters including drafting, reviewing and negotiating software licences, SaaS and cloud agreements, IT outsourcing and procurement contracts, and data processing arrangements. The role also covers UAE data protection and applicable free-zone regimes (DIFC/ADGM), IP issues for software, and legal risk around emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain and digital assets.

Assignments are delivered via a global legal consulting platform and provide exposure to in-house legal teams and major regional technology clients. Successful candidates should be commercially minded, able to work autonomously on client-facing tasks, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving regulatory environment.

  • 5–10 years PQE in technology/commercial contracts or in-house technology counselling.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud, software licence and IT outsourcing agreements.
  • Familiarity with UAE law and relevant free-zone (DIFC/ADGM) data protection and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of IP issues related to software and experience advising on AI, blockchain or fintech-related legal risks.
  • Strong commercial drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; ability to work independently on client-facing matters.
