Join a leading organisation as a Legal Consultant within its competition and consumer law practice area. This is a 12-month, full-time hybrid opportunity based in Sydney, offering the chance to work on significant and market-leading matters.

You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice, supporting business stakeholders across consumer-facing initiatives, promotions, pricing, and marketing campaigns. You will identify and manage legal and regulatory risks, ensuring compliance with Australian Consumer Law and competition law requirements, and support the development and launch of consumer initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Minimum 3–5 years' post-qualification experience in competition and consumer law, gained in private practice or in-house within a large organisation
Strong experience advising on compliance with Australian Consumer Law and competition law requirements
Expertise in reviewing and advising on consumer-facing offers, promotions, pricing initiatives, and marketing campaigns
Experience identifying and managing legal and regulatory risks associated with tactical offers and customer propositions
Ability to provide clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders
Strong understanding of consumer protection obligations, misleading and deceptive conduct provisions, and unfair contract term regimes
Experience supporting product, marketing, and commercial teams on the development and launch of consumer initiatives
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial and consumer-related documents
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence business decisions at multiple levels
Commercially minded with strong business acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
Proactive and responsive approach to supporting business objectives
Adaptability and comfort operating in a fast-changing commercial environment
Strong client service orientation and stakeholder management skills
Current Australian practising certificate
