Legal Consultant (Interim) — Maritime

Apply in confidence →Short-term (typically six months) full-time interim role supporting maritime legal work in the UAE, with assignments commonly based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. You'll manage a broad range of shipping and maritime contracts, including vessel sale and purchase documentation, shipping services agreements, crew management contracts, concession arrangements and port services agreements.
The role suits a self-directed consultant who wants hands-on responsibility on commercial maritime matters, access to firm resources while working on-site with a corporate client, and the flexibility of a fixed-term assignment.
- 4–8 years' post-qualification experience with strong shipping/maritime practice at a top-tier law firm
- Experience drafting and negotiating vessel sale/purchase, shipping services, crew management and port/concession agreements
- Recent in-house shipping or maritime experience is advantageous
- Experience working in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic desirable
- Valid practising certificate or equivalent entitling you to practise in the region; consultant mindset and ability to work independently
