Apply in confidence →Short-term consultancy opportunities for lawyers with payments regulatory experience. Roles are typically six months or longer and involve supporting banks, fintechs and payments businesses on regulatory change, product launches, payments architecture projects (eg. Open Banking, Confirmation of Payee, New Payments Architecture), cross-border roll-outs and commercial partnering arrangements.
Candidates will work with legal and business teams on day-to-day commercial contracting, product development, regulatory advice and project delivery. Assignments can sit within law firm delivery teams or be seconded directly into clients across the UK and EU.
Applicants must be able to operate autonomously, manage stakeholders at senior levels, and deliver pragmatic commercial advice in fast-moving regulatory and technology contexts. Note: applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Minimum 4 years' post-qualification experience with significant payments/regulatory work (Payment Services Directive, e-money, open banking, consumer duty, digital assets).
- Experience in a top-tier payments practice and/or recent in-house financial services experience preferred.
- Strong commercial contracting, project management and stakeholder-management skills.
- Resilient, client-focused consultant mindset with excellent written and oral communication.
- UK practising certificate (or equivalent) and right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
