Outstanding opportunity to join a national private equity practice within a leading U.S. law firm. The role is open in multiple U.S. offices (including Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York) and sits on a transactional team that represents private equity sponsors, independent sponsors, family offices and portfolio companies across buyouts, recapitalizations, growth financings and related corporate matters.

The position offers significant client contact, transaction responsibility and exposure to complex M&A and financing work. Typical duties include drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing closings, conducting legal and factual research, supervising more junior team members, and coordinating with industry-focused colleagues on cross-cutting matters.

  • 4–6 years' experience in private equity transactions (required)
  • Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills; experience managing deal processes and closings
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and project-management abilities
  • Ability to supervise junior attorneys and work collaboratively across teams
  • Excellent academic credentials; candidates should be admitted (or actively pursuing admission/reciprocity) in the state of the hiring office
