Top-tier U.S. law firm is hiring a music-focused associate to join its Entertainment & Sports team across multiple U.S. offices. The role is open in several major markets; candidate should be prepared to work on recording, publishing and related music-industry matters.

The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years' experience working in a major label or publisher business affairs office or at a recognized music-industry law practice. Typical work includes drafting and negotiating artist, producer, publishing, licensing, merchandising, endorsement and management agreements, and supporting music-related financings.

Responsibilities also include conducting contract review and copyright due diligence for catalog transactions, coordinating IP clearance and trademark searches with counsel, and preparing concise summaries and deal-tracking materials. Juris Doctor and state licensure required.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required; admission to practice in the state of the hiring office
  • 4–6 years' experience in the music industry (major label, publisher, or music-specialist firm)
  • Familiarity with recording, publishing, producer, songwriter, merchandising, tour, management, endorsement and related agreements
  • Experience with contract review and copyright/trademark due diligence for catalog acquisitions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to summarize agreements and present data in spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of entertainment-related financing and ability to coordinate with IP counsel
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; search firms not being accepted for this role
