Top-tier international law firm is seeking a junior associate to join its National Security & Global Trade practice in Washington, DC. The role focuses on customs and import compliance work for multinational clients, with opportunities to work on high‑impact regulatory, administrative and trade enforcement matters.

The successful candidate will work on counseling clients on U.S. customs laws (classification, valuation, country of origin, marking, preference programs), design and review of import compliance programs, representation before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (including rulings, protests, audits, disclosures, and enforcement), and matters before the U.S. Court of International Trade. The role includes drafting memoranda, compliance policies, submissions, and contributing to thought leadership and business development.

  • JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction
  • 1–3 years' experience advising on customs, import compliance, and international trade regulatory matters
  • Experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection processes (binding rulings, protests, audits, prior disclosures) preferred
  • Strong drafting, research, analytical and communication skills; ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, team environment
