Seeking a lateral partner to build and lead a compliance and government-contracts practice from the San Francisco office of a global law firm. The role focuses on regulatory counseling, government and public-sector work, and complex compliance matters for clients across multiple US markets.

Ideal candidate will handle cross-jurisdictional regulatory issues, advise on government contracting compliance, and work closely with clients in technology, government-related industries, and regulated sectors. The position offers responsibility for client development, matter management, and supervising junior lawyers.

Portable practice and business development capability are encouraged; there is scope to grow a team and expand the practice regionally (noted market focus includes DC, Texas and California).

Established partner-level experience in regulatory, compliance, and government contracts work.
Proven track record of client development and managing a portable practice or book of business.
Experience leading teams and supervising associates on complex, cross-jurisdictional matters.
Strong regulatory knowledge, excellent drafting and client-facing skills, and admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility to transfer.
