Patent Agent / Technical Advisor — Intellectual Property, New York

Growing IP team seeks a technical patent agent to support a busy patent counseling and prosecution practice focused on medical and mechanical technologies. The role involves drafting patent applications, preparing responses to office actions, and supporting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Successful candidates will contribute to prior-art searching, analyze scientific and patent literature, and work closely with attorneys across prosecution, counseling, and litigation matters. The team values initiative, clear technical writing, and strong collaboration.

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in biomedical, mechanical, chemical, materials engineering or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 3–7 years' relevant technical or industry experience in biomedical/medical device, mechanical or materials disciplines.
• Registered U.S. patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and meet registration requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with patent drafting, office-action responses, and prior-art searching; excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
