Private Equity M&A Associate (Asset Management) — Washington, DC

Seeking a mid-level to senior associate to join a busy private equity transactional team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on asset-management M&A, with particular emphasis on GP-stakes transactions.

The successful candidate will take ownership of deal components, work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams, and support a range of corporate transactions including M&A, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity and venture investments, exits, and equity compensation matters.

Bar admission (or prompt eligibility to obtain admission) in the District of Columbia is required. The team values proactive lawyers with strong commercial judgment, excellent communication skills, and proven client- and counsel-management ability.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant transactional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in asset-management M&A; GP-stakes transaction experience preferred.
• Broad corporate and transactional background (M&A, leveraged recaps, growth equity/venture, exits, equity compensation).
• Ability to manage deal components independently and work collaboratively on teams.
• Bar admission or prompt eligibility in the hiring office jurisdiction.
