Property/Land Access Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on major energy, infrastructure or resources projects, with a particular focus on land access, approvals and project development matters
• Providing strong experience in land tenure issues, including easements, licences, access arrangements, tenure rights and landholder negotiations
• Supporting native title matters, including Indigenous Land Use Agreements, future act processes and stakeholder engagement requirements
• Assisting with cultural heritage matters, including compliance obligations, heritage agreements and Aboriginal cultural heritage considerations for infrastructure projects
• Understanding environmental and regulatory approvals frameworks relevant to major energy and infrastructure developments
• Supporting the development and delivery of linear infrastructure projects such as gas pipelines, transmission lines, renewable energy projects or transport infrastructure
• Providing practical legal advice on land access strategies and approvals pathways to support project delivery and operational objectives
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating land access, tenure, heritage, project and commercial agreements
• Working closely with project development, approvals, land access, environmental and operational teams
• Identifying and managing legal, regulatory, environmental and stakeholder risks associated with major infrastructure projects
• Advising on commercial and construction law, including project delivery, procurement and contractor engagement arrangements
• Managing stakeholders, including engagement with landholders, Traditional Owners, regulators, government agencies and project stakeholders

You will bring strong commercial judgement, a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and provide commercially focused advice. You will be proactive, responsive, and able to identify issues early and help project teams navigate challenges efficiently.

Requirements: current Australian practising certificate and the right to live and work in Australia.
