Senior Associate / Counsel, Energy Regulatory — Austin

Top-tier energy practice seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its regulatory team in Austin (with options for other Texas offices). The role focuses on advising utilities, generators, developers and purchasers on commercial transactions across the electric power sector.

Work will include drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, retail supply agreements, interconnection and facility extension agreements, and related contract work; conducting regulatory due diligence for M&A and financing transactions; and supporting matters before state and federal energy regulators.

• 5+ years’ relevant experience in the electric power industry (commercial and regulatory matters)
• Demonstrated experience with power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, retail supply agreements, interconnection agreements, and facility extension agreements
• Experience conducting regulatory due diligence for M&A and financing transactions
• Familiarity with administrative proceedings before state public utility commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is a plus
