Apply in confidence →Seeking an experienced environmental attorney for a non-partnership-track senior attorney role in the firm's U.S. environmental practice, with positions open in multiple offices. The role carries a firm billable expectation (approximately 1,600 hours) and is benefits-eligible.
The successful candidate will handle a mix of compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting and regulatory authorizations, agency rulemaking, and related litigation. The team emphasizes collaborative, client-facing work, mentoring, and long-term engagements on precedent-setting matters.
Virginia bar membership is preferred and required within one year of hire if based in Virginia. The group values self-motivation, strong judgment, excellent written and oral communication, and an interest in developing within a team-based practice.
- Approximately 6 years of post-qualification experience in environmental law.
- Substantive experience in compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, regulatory authorizations, agency rulemaking, and/or environmental litigation.
- Experience in private practice, government, or trade association environments preferred.
- Strong written and oral advocacy, client-facing skills, and good professional judgment.
- Ability to meet firm billable expectations (circa 1,600 hours) and work collaboratively on teams.
- Virginia bar membership preferred; if applicable, must obtain within one year of joining.
