Senior/Principal Associate opportunity in a large commercial development and investment team based in Birmingham. The role focuses on major, multi-disciplinary development projects across mixed-use, retail, office, industrial and life sciences sectors, alongside investment transactions, lettings and general property work.

The post-holder will work on drafting and negotiating development agreements, joint ventures, promotion/options, complex lease structures, site assembly and disposals, and will liaise with funders, local authorities, advisers and project teams. The role includes client-facing responsibility, project management and supervising junior fee-earners.

Qualified solicitor (minimum 5 PQE) with demonstrable experience in commercial/mixed-use development and commercial investment work
Strong drafting and negotiation skills — development agreements, JVs, promotion/options and complex leases
Ability to manage a varied caseload to tight deadlines, with commercial judgment and attention to detail
Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members and working in multi-disciplinary project teams
