Growing Specialist Liability team seeking a Solicitor with experience handling civil claims against the police and other public bodies. The team handles complex claims including false imprisonment, assault, misconduct, Human Rights breaches and related public‑law tort work, with opportunities to expand into abuse, discrimination, deprivations of liberty, misfeasance and inquests.

The role is open to candidates based anywhere in England & Wales and operates on a hybrid basis across multiple offices. You will manage a mixed caseload of pre‑litigated and litigated matters, drafting court documents, preparing evidence, attending conferences and trials (with counsel) and supervising disclosure of sensitive material.

1–8 years PQE (England & Wales)
Proven litigation experience, including running police/public‑body claims
Good working knowledge of false imprisonment, Human Rights Act and PACE
Experience preparing court documents, proofing witnesses and managing disclosure
Able to handle factually and legally complex cases, producing high‑quality work for knowledgeable clients
Comfortable working flexibly in a hybrid model; able to work independently and collaboratively
Targeted annual chargeable hours of approximately 1,440
