Apply in confidence →Our client, a leading international law firm, seeks an experienced associate to join its banking regulatory practice in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience advising banks, bank holding companies, and their affiliates on U.S. federal and state prudential banking regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising U.S. and non-U.S. banks and bank holding companies on prudential requirements, including capital, liquidity, governance, and risk management.
- Handling regulatory matters under the Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, Federal Deposit Insurance Act, International Banking Act, Change in Bank Control Act, Community Reinvestment Act, and Volcker Rule.
- Guiding clients through regulatory notices, applications, chartering, and licensing initiatives, as well as investments, activities, M&A, affiliate transactions (Regulation W), fiduciary activities (Part 9), broker exceptions (Regulation R), insider transactions (Regulation O), international operations (Regulation K), and control determinations (Regulation Y).
- Counseling clients on regulatory examinations, supervisory findings, and enforcement actions before the Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, and state banking agencies.
Candidates must be admitted to the D.C. bar or be eligible to seek prompt admission.
- 8+ years of experience in prudential bank regulatory matters.
- Strong understanding of the prudential bank regulatory framework and supervisory process.
- Admission to the D.C. bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
