Apply in confidence →Senior associate role in a major international law firm’s Washington, DC office advising banks, bank holding companies, and financial affiliates on prudential regulatory matters. The practice counsels on capital and liquidity, governance, risk management, licensing and chartering, regulatory applications, and transactional regulatory issues.
Work includes counseling clients on U.S. federal and state banking laws and regulations, responding to regulatory examinations and supervisory findings, and representing clients before banking agencies and examiners. The team handles issues under the Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, FDIC/OCC/Federal Reserve supervision, CRA, the Volcker Rule, and related banking regulations.
The role requires close collaboration with cross‑discipline teams and offers exposure to both U.S. and non‑U.S. banking regulatory matters.
- Approximately 8+ years of US banking regulatory experience advising banks, bank holding companies, or financial services firms.
- Strong knowledge of prudential bank regulatory framework and supervisory processes (capital, liquidity, governance, risk management).
- Experience with regulatory applications, examinations, enforcement matters, and interactions with Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC or state banking regulators.
- Familiarity with relevant statutes and regulations (e.g., Bank Holding Company Act, FDIC/OCC/Fed rules, CRA, Volcker Rule and related regulations).
- Admitted to, or eligible for prompt admission to, the Washington, DC bar.
