Apply in confidence →Join a leading national law firm's growing Scottish Finance practice in Edinburgh or Glasgow. You will work closely with Banking & Finance partners advising lenders, borrowers, investors, and corporates on a broad range of financing transactions, including real estate finance, leveraged finance, asset finance, corporate debt, restructurings, asset-based lending, and trade finance.
As an associate, you will support and lead transactional workstreams from inception to completion, draft and negotiate finance documentation, and build strong client relationships. This role offers exposure to sophisticated, cross-border matters and a clear pathway to progression within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and manage banking and finance transactions from instruction to completion.
- Draft, review, and negotiate finance and security documentation.
- Lead transaction workstreams, including due diligence and deal execution.
- Act as a key day-to-day contact for lenders, borrowers, and counterparties.
- Collaborate with corporate, real estate, restructuring, and other specialist teams.
- Contribute to business development and enhance the firm's market profile.
- Deliver high-quality, commercially focused advice with increasing autonomy.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE in a recognised banking and finance practice.
- Experience in corporate lending, real estate finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-based lending, or restructuring mandates.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills for finance documentation.
- Ability to lead discrete workstreams and manage client relationships.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in legal technology and innovation.
