We are recruiting an Expertise (professional support) lawyer to join our Global Loans team in London. The role sits within our wider Global Loans and Global Markets department, driving quality, efficiency and profitability through the development of expertise resources, the capture of practice experience and partner knowledge, and the delivery of quality initiatives and legal learning programs.

As part of the Expertise team, you will work alongside two other Expertise lawyers and an Expertise executive. The role offers hybrid working, with the home office based in either London or Glasgow.

Key responsibilities:

  • Training: develop, coordinate and deliver training for the department, using technology and varied formats to maximise engagement and ensure compliance with SRA requirements.
  • Core guidance documents: create and curate practical resources and external references to provide accessible, comprehensive materials for fee earners.
  • Legal developments: monitor legal and market developments and distil them into focused, practical updates.
  • Subject matter expertise: develop deep expertise in one or more Global Loans workstreams, critically examine ways of working, and enhance related resources.
  • Advice: provide technical and practical advice to lawyers across all levels and workstreams, and improve knowledge-sharing resources to enable fee earners to self-serve.

About you:

  • England & Wales qualified solicitor or barrister with technical ability consistent with an outstanding associate in a City or equivalent firm.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and legal technology, and an active interest in adopting legal tech solutions in a practice setting.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and drafting skills.
  • Adaptable, with a “can do” attitude.
  • England & Wales qualified solicitor or barrister with technical abilities consistent with an outstanding associate in a City or equivalent firm.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and legal technology, as well as standard software used by fee earners, with an active interest in embracing legal technology solutions in a practice setting.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Adaptability and a “can do” attitude.
