Consulting Lawyer – Commercial Real Estate (Australia)

We are seeking experienced commercial real estate lawyers to join our global legal consulting platform. This is a self-directed career path for lawyers who want the backing of a leading international firm while enjoying the flexibility to choose their assignments and control their working life.

As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on high-quality matters with a range of clients, either in-house on assignments typically lasting two to twelve months, or on an ad-hoc basis supporting our practice teams. You will receive dedicated support from our consultant management team, access to professional support lawyers and knowledge resources, and opportunities for training, networking, and mentoring.

We are looking for lawyers with strong technical expertise in commercial real estate, including:

• Acquisition, financing, development, and sale of commercial real estate
• Leasing, facilities and management agreements, procurement contracts, construction work, and commercial leasing
• Real estate M&A
• Investment fund formation, structuring, and joint ventures
• Real estate investment trusts

Successful applicants will have:

• The right to work and reside in Australia
• Unrestricted qualification to practice in Australia
• A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a top-tier law firm and a leading financial institution or corporate (directly or as a secondee)
• A willingness to engage as a casual employee or via an Independent Legal Practice
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in a common law jurisdiction
• A self-starter attitude with a commitment to building a consulting career
• Experience leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
• Client service focus, strong commercial acumen, and resilience
