Apply in confidence →We are seeking Employment Lawyers (1-3 years PQE) to join our market-leading Employment Practice in a newly established Belfast team, working closely with our London and global colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to handle high-quality, varied work for a broad range of blue-chip and global clients across sectors including financial services, TMT, pharmaceutical, transport, consumer, and retail.
You will advise on the full spectrum of employment law, including transactional matters, complex disputes, strategic HR advisory, and investigations. The role offers exposure to multi-jurisdictional projects and the chance to develop your expertise in a collaborative, world-class environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Advise on employment aspects of global projects and transactions, including due diligence, disclosure schedules, business carve-outs, and post-acquisition integrations.
- Handle TUPE matters, including information and consultation requirements, drafting and negotiating relevant provisions in transaction documents.
- Advise on redundancy processes, including collective consultation and selection criteria.
- Manage Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and equal pay; prepare ET3 forms, grounds of resistance, and witness statements; negotiate settlements.
- Advise on restrictive covenants and their enforceability.
- Conduct internal investigations, including grievances and whistleblowing allegations; advise on procedures and data subject access requests.
Requirements:
- Solicitor qualified in Northern Ireland and/or England and Wales.
- 1-3 years' post-qualification experience in employment law from a leading practice.
- Excellent academics and strong technical skills.
- Commercial mindset, strong teamwork, and client relationship-building abilities.
