We are seeking a mid to senior level associate to join our Employment Services practice. The role involves representing employers in complex workplace disputes and providing day-to-day counseling. You will work within a collaborative team of employment litigators, gaining substantial responsibility and direct client contact.

  • Represent employers in state and federal litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, leave, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenants.
  • Manage cases through all phases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
  • Draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other filings; conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis.
  • Advise clients on employment counseling and risk mitigation; collaborate with colleagues across offices on sophisticated matters.
  • Participate in business development, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications include a JD from an accredited law school, admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction, and a minimum of five years of employment litigation experience. Strong drafting, research, and advocacy skills are required. Oregon bar admission is preferred, but willingness to seek admission promptly is acceptable.

  • Minimum 5 years of employment litigation experience at a law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department.
  • Strong experience handling employment disputes in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and managing discovery.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to client service.
  • Oregon bar admission preferred or willingness to seek admission promptly.
