Our Property Recoveries team in Glasgow is seeking a Paralegal to manage a varied caseload involving property damage claims. You will handle both Pursuer and Defender work in the Sheriff Court under the simple procedure and ordinary cause tracks. This role involves a mix of court preparation, client communication, and file management.
- Conduct preliminary investigations and evidence gathering for claims brought by solicitors
- Draft letters and reports to clients
- Negotiate damages and legal expenses with third-party loss adjusters, insurers, and solicitors
- Perform research and document analysis to advise team members and clients
- Handle enforcement of judgments against third parties
- Manage predominantly Pursuer cases, with some Defender claims
We welcome applications from graduates or those with customer service or retail backgrounds who are keen to develop legal skills. Ideally, you will hold a law degree (LLB or equivalent), a Diploma in Legal Practice, or a Paralegal/CILEX qualification. You should be organised, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator, with a basic understanding of contract and delict law. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected; experience with case management systems is a plus. You should enjoy working in a team, demonstrate a commercial mindset, and align with our cultural values of being clear, creative, determined, and supportive.

- Highly organised and a confident communicator with an outstanding eye for detail
- Interest in and preferably a basic understanding of general contract and delict
- IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems is an advantage
- Team-oriented, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues
- Ability to adopt a commercial perspective on claim settlements
